Introduction to Women’s Studies
|
Professor Shim
Hello. I introduce me first. I am Professor Shim but can say P-Shimmy (my poet name). If you not know, English is not first language and I not English Professor. I am a professor in women’s studies and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the topic of women’s studies.
So you may be wondering what women’s studies is. For those of you who are unsure of what women’s studies is, I suggest you learn English first. It is all in the name and it is what it states. Women’s studies is the study of wor mein, the Chinese noodles. I not know why the university spell wor mein as women but I think it because they don’t know Chinese.
I have not talked about wor mein (or women as university call it) with my class so I not allowed to share about this yet. So far, I have been talking about me and showing pictures of me during the lectures. So I can write here what I talked about in lecture but not new topics. So I talk about myself for today.
In university, I studied many different topics. Some days, I sat on a bench and stared at trees. Other days, I sat at the table and stared at my food so I could try and understand what I was eating. However, wor mein was a consistent topic of study for me. I practiced lots to try and make it delicious and tasty. One day, I was asked to come teach wor mein studies at the university and I thought to myself, “Sure, why not? Wor mein is delicious and I like it. It will be so fun to talk about this.” So now I am here.
That is my story for today. If you have not noticed by now, I am a male. My inconsistency in English is because of my inconsistent focus from being a male. It takes me lots of focus to write good English and if I get distracted, my English is more poor. Sorry, right now I want to go catch a goose so I will go do that. Bye.
